THE BRAICH GOCH

The Braich Goch Inn was first recorded 450 years ago. Over the centuries it has hosted drovers, farmers, miners, mine-owners, royalty, hikers, bikers, local events, and now we are its latest caretakers, opening its doors and gardens to everyone, but especially as a home from home to those of refugee and migrant backgrounds, who might find it harder than others to access the magic and beauty of rural Wales.

 

We take our role as stewards of this building very seriously. Since we bought the Braich Goch in 2016, we have turned it into a community asset, so that it will never belong to any individual, and can be a resource available to the communities who need it. We have invested over £120k in building repairs and renovations, and countless hours of cleaning, fixing, gardening, painting and maintenance to keep the building warm, safe and dry, and looking as beautiful as it can. We are currently applying for further funding to refurbish the building, inside and out.

In addition to our usual hostel bookings, the Braich Goch is also available for hire to individuals and organisations. Whether you are planning a party, a work event or a workshop, our fully licensed bar and events space, our commercial-standard kitchen, and our cozy living room and dining area are all available to book.
