We are aware that the privileges we experience and are able to share here in Wales, are as a result of colonial agendas of the past and present in the global south.

For this reason, we are committed to having an internationalist approach in our work. It is our long term goal to build and be part of a network of organisations, in the UK and across the world, who are working towards similar goals of justice for our planet and its people.

We want our work in the UK to also be of benefit to people working at the grassroots level across the global south, but we don’t want to slip into paternalistic power dynamics in our international work any more than we do working with people in the UK.

For this reason we are working on our policies and practices around the concept of grassroots reparations, and building solidarity economies with like-minded people around the world.

You can read our report from our 2023 field trip to Colombia.

You can read more about what we mean about grassroots reparations here (hyperlink to Appendix 1 of the report)
